Erbium-Doped Fibre Lasers, Amplifiers & Broadband Sources

IPG 1.5 Micron Devices

The ELR series are single-mode continuous wave (CW) Erbium fibre lasers with powers up to 50 W that provide diffraction limited output in the 1535 to 1605 nm spectral range. They offer turnkey operation, compact size, and air-cooled simplicity for unique reliability. They make an ideal IR source for lab applications and researchers can select from a wide range of options including direct (up to 2 kHz) modulation, optical isolation at the output, pumping redundancy, termination and more.

Applications

Biomedicine & Medical
Coherent or spectral beam combining
Mid-IR crystal and OPO pumping
Optical Tweezers
Photonic switching
Sensors and detectors

EAD Series C- & L-Band Amplifiers

IPG also offers C- & L-band single-channel randomly polarised Erbium-doped fibre amplifierse with output powers from 500 mW up to 5 watts. The EAD series amplifiers are conveniently packaged for use in a laboratory environment. Example applications include: research and development in telecommunications, photonics switching, and sensors.

Everything is contained in one desktop instrument, including the EDFA with up to 5 W saturated power output. The front panel includes a monitor display, a keyed on/off switch, power control and fibre input/outputs.

A datasheet is available in the Documents tab above or, for more inofrmation, please contact us.

CAUTION
As with all eye-safe 1530 to 1620 nm lasers, operation generally means that the eye damage threshold is significantly higher than for a 1064 nm laser. Nevertheless, this is a Class IV laser and IPG recommends that appropriate eyewear always be worn, and laser safety procedures followed.
