A range of compact probe manipulators for life scientists
MX130 Series
The MX130 Manipulator series has a narrow profile design that allows multiple manipulators to be placed in one quadrant, thus maximising available space.
Just 2½ turns of the coarse adjustment will fully retract the device 42 mm in the X-axis, while the fine adjustment delivers 3 mm of travel. Fine adjustment of the Y-axis is achieved via a screw on the back of the device, while Z-axis adjustment can be done on either the top or bottom - whichever provides the best access.
Device angle is easily set by loosening the locking screw, and the RTC-0.5 mounting base provides coarse rotational positioning and flexible mounting options of either base or post support. Left or right-hand models allow additional flexibility to suit the application.
The systems are supplied with a Siskiyou MXC-45 probe clamp for easy changing of electrodes or other implements.

MX130 Hydraulic Model
The combination of an MX130 and single-axis MX610 hydraulic manipulator delivers an ideal system for intracellular recording and micro-injection applications. The fine hydraulic control delivers a smooth and instant response with sub-micron resolution at the output across the entire 5 mm range of travel. The manipulator also allows the stage to be rotated out of the experiment for easy electrode replacement.
The hydraulic mechanism is constructed using a metal bellows system and crossed roller bearings on each axis to ensure precision movement and long life. The special hydraulic fluid offers up three times less thermal expansion than that of oil-based systems, minimising drift to less than 2 µm per hour at constant temperatures.
In this MX130-H model, the manual manipulator has 38 mm of coarse axial control along the probe's X-axis, plus 3.5 mm of fine control. The large fine controller improves resolution and feel of the adjustment screw, and also helps the user differentiate between the fine and coarse control without needing to look.
Y- and Z-axis control of the MX130 is via 100 TPI adjustment screws and maximum travel in these axes is approximately 12 mm.

Siskiyou Corporation has been producing popular laboratory mechanicals for over 40 years; designing from the outset with quality and flexibility in mind.
Siskiyou do not aim at single disciplines, such as Photonics or Life Sciences, but craft their products to provide end users with the modular tools for constructing systems that are only limited by their imagination.
These concepts have ensured Siskiyou components outperform and outlast competitive products.
