Fibre Positioners   

Siskiyou fibre translators are available as 3 or 5-axis positioners. The BFT range is for bare fibre, while the CFT models are for connectorised fibre. Each has a corresponding series of chucks for holding the fibre which are ordered separately.

The BFT model can also be ordered with a polarisation option, whereas all CFT models have this as standard.

BFT & CFT 3-axis Fibre Positioners

BFT-3
The BFT 3-axis bare fibre translator is a post-mountable component compatible with BFC series fibre chucks for polarising and non-polarising applications. They use lockable 80 TPI adjustment screws for precise positioning of XY and Z-axis, and are fitted with Soft Touch colour-coded screwcaps for easy identification of the X and Y axes in low light conditions. A polarisation maintaining version is available as the BFT-3P.

CFT-3
The compact CFT connectorised series of fibre translators makes them ideal for post or base mounting in crowded beam path applications. The CFT-3 uses 80 TPI adjustment screws for precise positioning, and Soft Touch colour-coded screwcaps for easy identification of the X and Y axes in low light conditions. The Y-axis is fitted with a unique capture screw designed to ensure no drift due to overloading.

CFTx-3
A more robust design can be had in the CFTx-3 series. These fibre translators are based on OTX lens positioners and can take a 4G jolt without moving more than 5 µm when the axes are locked. Precise positioning is achieved through 100 TPI rolled-thread screws with hex adjusters to prevent accidental misalignment, while Z-axis adjustment is via an 80 TPI internal thread for accurate focusing.

BFT-5
The BFT 5-axis bare fibre translator is post mountable and uses lockable 80 TPI adjustment screws for precise positioning of all axes. Soft Touch colour-coded screwcaps for easy identification in low light conditions are used on 4 out of the 5 fitted adjusters. It is also compatible with BFC series fibre chucks for polarising and non-polarising applications. A polarisation maintaining version is available as the BFT-5P.
